I grew up moving all over the country, but I always came back to the beautiful Pacific Northwest. I have had numerous ties to Thurston county throughout the years, so the decision to settle down in Olympia upon graduation from veterinary school was easily made. I graduated from the Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2003. I have since been an associate veterinarian practicing both general medicine and surgery at Lacey Animal Clinic and emergency medicine at Olympia Pet Emergency. I have been an executive board member of the Washington State Veterinary Medical Association for 2 terms (representing the south Puget Sound) and I have embarked on numerous community related endeavors such as developing a companion animal first-aid training program for the Lacey Fire Department and working with local wildlife rehabilitators from "We Are One Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation". I have various non-human companions that enrich my life, and I have said goodbye to many throughout the years. I have been on both sides of euthanasia, and know how it feels to lose a four-legged "soul mate". Sometimes, the kindest thing we can do is to help them pass peacefully. Dr Blair M. Burggren-
